Round-by-round the New England Patriots wheeled and dealed with other teams moving down and acquiring more picks in the future. The Patriots began the day with 9 picks and finished with 9 players with which to rebuild the roster. Just one pick, 5th round choice Lee Smith, was selected by the Patriots at the original Draft position. Every other pick was acquired via trade, either before or during the Draft.
