The New England Patriots announced the release of DB Vincent Fuller on
Friday. In addition, the team signed DB Sterling Moore and DE
Alex Silvestro from the practice squad to the active roster.
Filler was signed by the Patriots on Wed (12/21) as a free agent
(Lions). The seventh-year veteran was originally selected in
the fourth round (108th overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans. After five seasons in Tennessee, Fuller was signed
Oct. 6, 2011by Detroit after being released by Tennessee on Sept. 3.
After injuring his elbow on Oct. 10, Fuller was placed on injured
reserve by Detroit. The team then released him Dec. 6.
Moore, a rookie free agent signee of the Raiders in July, spent time
with the Patriots this season before being re-signed. The 5-foot-10,
205-pound SMU product was signed to New England’s practice squad on
Oct. 5. He appeared in five games for the Patriots (3 starts).
Silvestro was originally signed by New England as a rookie
free agent on July 27, 2011. Released Sept 3, he was
re-signed to the team’s practice squad on Sept. 28. The 6-foot-3,
267-pound Rutgers product has played both linebacker and defensive end.
