The Patriots announced the signing of a pair of free agents on Monday; DE Trevor Scott and CB Marquice Cole. Scott's addition was expected, Cole's agreement is new.

The New England Patriots announced the signings of two players on
Monday, DE/OLB Trevor Scott and CB Marquice Cole. Terms of
the deals were not available.
The addition of Scott, was expected since news of his agreement broke
late last week. The 6-foot-6, 255-pound defender was a sixth
round pick (169th overall) of the Oakland Raiders in the 2006 NFL
Draft.
The four year veteran has player in 58 games with 16 starts.
He has recorded 61 tackles, 13.5 sacks one pass defended and
one forced fumble in his career.
Scott, 27, suffered a torn ACL in the 2010 season. He
appeared in just 10 games for the Raiders that season. Scott
participated in all 16 games for the Raiders in 2011.
Cole is a three year veteran free agent who played for the New York Jets from 2009-11. Originally signed by the Oakland Raiders as a rookie
free agent in 2007, the Northwestern product bounced around the league
before landing in New York.
The 5-foot-10m 192-pound defensive back, spent 2007 with the Tennessee Titans, before joining the New Orleans Saints in 2008 and the Jets in
2009.
Cole, 28, has appeared in 37 games with one start. He has 14 career
tackles, 2 interceptions and one punt return for a touchdown.
As a special teams contributor, he has recorded 45 tackles.
The additions indicate that the Patriots are adding players who could
play a role with New England. Neither is expected to challenge for a
starting role immediately.
