The New England Patriots have re-signed veteran safety James Ihedigbo.
Ihedigbo, 28, started all but four regular-season games and all three
postseason games for New England last season after joining the team as
an unrestricted free agent from the New York Jets last August.
He finished the season with a career-high 72 total tackles, one pass
defensed and four special teams tackles. He added 20 tackles and one
sack in the postseason.
The 6-foot-1, 214-pounder is a veteran of five NFL seasons with the New
York Jets and has started in 12 of 53 games and has 121 total tackles,
five sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
He originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Jets out
of Massachusetts in 2007.
