FOXBORO – Easy come and easy go for two Patriots players Monday.
Returning to the Patriots was receiver Quentin Sims, 23, who was released during final cuts on Saturday. The Patriots re-signed the rookie receiver to the practice squad.
The player going is fullback James Develin. Two days after making the Patriots 53-man roster, New England cut the 6-foot-3, 255-pound Develin.
Sims joined the Patriots as a rookie free agent on July 19 and was released by the team on Aug. 31. The 6-foot-3, 202-pound Sims played two seasons at Georgia Tech (2009-10) before transferring to Tennessee-Martin in 2011. He had 86 receptions for 1,092 yards and 16 touchdowns last season.

He joined the Cincinnati practice squad for the final five games of the 2010 season after playing for the Florida Tuskers of the United Football League.
A former college defensive end at Brown University, Develin spent the entire 2011 season with Cincinnati on the practice squad and signed with New England's practice squad on Sept. 1, 2012 after being released by the Bengals.
