As always, home team in CAPS:
NEW ENGLAND 12 1/2 New York Jets
The Patriots were lucky to escape with a win last week in Buffalo, and the Jets were fortunate to pull out a win against Tampa. New England's offense is already decimated with injuries, but fortunately for them they might not need much against the Jets. The 12 1/2 point spread is too high though.
PHILADELPHIA 7 1/2 San Diego
The Eagles got off to a great start with a Week One win. The Chargers were not as lucky. Philadelphia could be dangerous if Michael Vick stays healthy, which means back-to-back losses for the Chargers to start the season.
BALTIMORE 6 1/2 Cleveland
The Ravens got smoked by Denver, but got some extra rest to get ready for the Browns, who likely won't provide much competition. This will probably be over by the third quarter.
Houston 8 1/2 Tennessee
The Texans had a remarkable comeback Monday night, and the Titans got off to a good start by beating Pittsburgh. Houston should pose a challenge to any team this year. This week should be a win, but Tennessee often gives the Texans fits.
INDIANAPOLIS 3 Miami
The Colts had a tougher time than expected last week, and they won't sneak up on anybody this year. The Dolphins are pretty good, but not good enough to win this week.
Carolina 3 BUFFALO
Both the Panthers and the Bills almost pulled out a Week One upsets last week. Buffalo could be pests for some teams this season. Look for Buffalo to win at home.
ATLANTA 7 St. Louis
The Falcons lost last week but there is no question they will be contenders this year. The Rams could be too, but their tough division won't make it easy. The Falcons should win this one at home with relative ease.
GREEN BAY 7 Washington
The Packers will absolutely be competing for the NFC Title. The Redskins will have difficulty competing for the NFC East division crown. Robert Griffin III got off to a slow start. If that continues the Redskins have no chance. Packers 36-24
Kansas CITY 2 1/2 Dallas
Look out for the Chiefs, who should compete for the playoffs this year. Dallas won't, certainly not in the NFC. The Chiefs will be off to a great start after they beat the Cowboys.
CHICAGO 6 1/2 Minnesota
This is another early season battle between NFC North teams. The Bears won last week, and they should this week too.
New Orleans 3 TAMPA BAY
The Saints are back, but they never technically left. The Bucs season started out disappointing, and it likely won't get better this week. They will hang in there, especially at home, but Drew Brees and the Saints will have too much on offense.
Detroit 1 Arizona
The Lions looked good last week, and Arizona played tough in loss. This will be a tough early season test for the Lions. They will pass the test.
Seattle 3 San Francisco
This will be a huge game between two tough defenses and two young star quarterbacks. The Seahawks will win a squeaker provided San Fran does not get a fifth down, but Seattle won't cover the points.
Cincinnati 7 Pittsburgh
Both teams lost last week, but the Steelers looked dreadful. The Bengals should win.
Game of the Week:
Denver 5 New York Giants
This might not be the best game on the schedule, but the Manning versus Manning is always intriguing. The Broncos looked great and there is no question the Giants are better then what they showed on Sunday. They will keep this game close, and an outright win at home wouldn't be shocking as long as they don't turn over the ball.
Stinker of the Week:
OAKLAND 6 Jacksonville
Two of the worst teams in the league face-off! Yawn!
Record For Week One: 6-9-1 (12-4 without the spread)
Record Through Week One: 6-9-1 (12-4 without the spread)
Game of Week Record: 1-0
Stinker of the Week Record: 0-1
