Patriots 2005 NFL Schedule

The highlights of the schedule include kickoff opening night, another Thursday night game, against the Oakland Raiders. Raider Nation will never forget the famous "tuck" game, and the NFL is ready to exploit that match-up every chance they can, and why not?

The League schedule makers have New England playing every team in the NFC South this year. A division which includes; Tampa Bay, New Orleans, Atlanta and Carolina. The Division boasts 3 teams which have made Superbowl appearances in the last 6 years.

Then there's the AFC Championship game rematch early on, this time before Halloween. The last time the Steelers played the Patriots in the regular season, they we're able to shut down Tom Brady and the Patriots offense, ending the Patriots NFL record winning streak at 21.

The obligatory annual rematch with Peyton Manning and the colts is a Monday Night affair in Foxboro. Manning has trouble beating the Patriots in Foxboro, and there's no reason to believe that will change this time.

The rest of the season is full of more division rival games including a Monday Night affair (the Patriots second of the season), against division rival New York Jets at the Meadowlands the day after Christmas. Late in the regular season last year, the Jets needed to defeat the Patriots to have a shot at the postseason. They couldn't muster enough to get the job done and watched as their AFC East rival rumbled on in the playoffs.

Here's the regular season schedule for 2005:
