Patriots Notes:
OL Matt Light is out with a broken lower
leg. Light had surgery to repair the injury and is expected to be out at least
8 weeks.
RB Kevin Faulk also suffered an injury in the Pittsburgh game.
Faulk's injury will keep him out for an unspecified amount of time, but his lack
of availability prompted the Patriots to sign Amos Zereoue.
CBs Tyrone Poole
and Randall Gay continue to show up on the injury report. Gay and Poole have both
missed time after suffering injuries early in the season. Expect them not to make
an appearance as they haven't been seen at practice during the session which is
open to the media.
CB Duane Starks has been hobbled by a thigh injury. He
played last week against the Steelers but had to leave the game due to injury.
He managed to return later on. This week expect to see Starks in action at some
point especially with CBs still down (Gay and Poole).
CB Chad Scott, still
a bit sore with a shoulder injury. Scott played last week, but showed signs of
rust as he was flagged for penalties twice.
LB Tully Banta-Cain played last
week, also showing signs of rust as he committed multiple penalties on special
teams. He is listed on the injury report, but should be available on Sunday.
OL
Brandon Gorin continues to miss time due to a leg injury. Gorin was splitting
time with Tom Ashworth on the right side of the line at tackle position through
the preseason until he was hurt. Now that Light is out, and the rookie Kaczur
gets the nod at left tackle, Gorin's absence is more critical. The team brought
in additional linemen to have enough options for the near term.
S James
Sanders hasn't seen action for weeks with a leg injury. Sanders who was seeing
significant playing time rotating in with the first unit during camp and the preseason,
will be missed if he can't go. The loss of Rodney Harison makes the need of Sander's
return ever more important. Expect Gus Scott to get the call in his place.
