The oft-injured 11-year veteran cornerback Tyrone Poole has agreed to join the Oakland Raders to extend his career. Pools spent the last three seasons with the New England Patriots, but managed only one full season with the team. Injuries, have limited his playing time over the last two years to just six games.
The 5-foot-9, 190-pound defensive back has played in just 22 of 48 regular season games for the Patriots. He played in all 16 regular season games in his first year in New England, culminating in an appearance as teh starting cornerback in Super Bowl XXXVIII.

Poole provides Oakland a veteran presence to a group that includes three cornerbacks under the age of 25: Nnamdi Asomugha, Fabian Washington and Stanford Routt.
Originally drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the first round of the 1995 NFL Draft (22nd overall), he has spent time with three other teams beside the Patriots: Carolina (1995-97), Indianapolis (1998-2000) and Denver (2001-02).
He has managed 497 tackles, 5 sacks, 17 interceptions, 133 passes defensed, 10 forced fumbles and 5 fumble recoveries through his NFL career.
