On Tuesday the Patriots made a couple of roster moves to shuffle the list of developmental players who may be needed down the road. To make room on the roster for both players, the Patriots were forced to release defensive lineman Zach West again. West was signed by the Patriots as an undrafted rookie free agent on May 8, 2007. He was part of the team's final round of roster cuts before being resigned later to the team's practice squad.
Offensive Lineman Pat Ross:
Ross is a 6-foot-3, 300-pound offensive lineman who can play center. The former Boston College starter was current Patriots center Dan Koppen's replacement at after Koppen finished his career at BC. Koppen played for BC from 2000-2002. Originally signed as an undrafted rookie free agent by the Seattle Seahawks in May 2006, Ross was a member of Seattle's practice squad last season. At the beginning of the season this year, Ross was placed on Seattle's Rreserve/injured list and then released September 6, 2007. Terms of his signing were not available.
Defensive Back Tim Mixon:
Mixon is a 5-foot-9, 184-pound defensive back. The Chicago Bears signed the former California product as an undrafted rookie free agent on May 7, 2007. He was part of Chicago's final round of roster cuts headed into the season on September 1st. He spent a week with the Browns before being released again.
