Richard Seymour is active for the first time all year. His addition to the Patriots defense will be immeasurable down the road, but can be immediately visible in the run defense. With Jarvis Green, Ty Warren, Vince Wilfork and Mike Wright all active, the Patriots defensive line is at full strength. Backup Kareem Brown will sit this game out. Le Kevin Smith is also in the mix, mostly for his contributions on special teams. Another reserve defensive lineman Santonio Thomas was released earlier this week.
With Ben Watson out, Marcellus Rivers and Heath Evans will see more action assuming Watson's duties. Kyle Brady will take his usual role of blocking Tight End and safety vale for Brady, but Rivers and Evans will be called upon in the running game.
Sammy Morris misses another game this week with the chest injury he suffered two weeks ago against the Cowboys. League insiders tell us that Morris will miss about a month of action, this is his second straight week on the sidelines.
Billy Yates and Wesley Britt are a pair of valuable reserve offensive linemen who will sit out another week. Because they're out, Russ Hochstein and Ryan O'Callaghan will be the main backups.
Mel Mitchell and Eric Alexander will be missed on special teams. Kelly Washington, Pierre Woods and Rashad Baker will fill in for them.

Richard Seymour will play today, Sammy Morris and Ben Watson will not. In effect, the Patriots just got better, not good news for the Washington Redskins. Inactives for both teams.
Patriots defensive lineman Richard Seymour will start today for the first time this season.
