Brady Hurt? QB in Walking Boot

No, it's not a joke or some hoax. It's real, and it could spell trouble for New England. Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady has his right foot in a walking boot. Brady was seen sporting a walking cast while visiting his girlfriend in New York City this week. The extent of the injury is not known.

Tom Brady had an off day against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday, turning in one of his worst playoff performances of his career. He managed to connect on just 22 of his 33 passes for 209 yards, 2 TDs and 3 interceptions. But something could have caused that performance, and one guess is an unknown injury.

Monday a video of Brady nursing his injured leg appeared on TMZ.com an online magazine.

In his weekly spot on WEEI Radio in Boston, Brady downplayed the injury. (listen in)

"Ah, you know, there's always bumps and bruises," Said Brady. "I'll be ready for the Super Bowl, I'm not worried about that. I'm not missing this one. I'd have to be on a stretcher to miss this one."

Brady felt there would be plenty of time to get back into shape for the Super Bowl.

"There will be treatment this week. In games like this, you get a little nicked up. It's nothing serious."

According to various published reports, The Patriots had no comments on the photos or the injury. New England plays the New York Giants in Arizona for Super Bowl XLII on February 3, 2008.
