FOXBORO -- Adam Caplan of Scout.com has confirmed the New England Patriots have cut ties with wide receiver Chad Jackson today.

Breaking: Wide receiver Chad Jackson survived the first round of roster cuts only to receive the bad news today. According to Caplan, and PatriotsInsider.com insiders, the move could be a prelude to signing a new cornerback.
