Week two in the NFL had plenty of story lines to keep an eye on, and none were more compelling than the QB with the most starts in the league playing the one with the least. Yet, a similar scenario

Matt Cassel hadn't started a game since high school, but led the Patriots past Brett Favre and the Jets.

Kerry Collins hadn't thrown a touchdown pass since 2006, but he went on the road and helped the Titans cruise by Carson Palmer and the Bengals.

Kurt Warner, 38, passed for 361 yards in leading Arizona to its first 2-0 record since 1991.

All would have been unlikely scenarios just two weeks ago, but each of the three quarterbacks are at the helm of their respective offenses indefinitely.

Cassel is replacing injured Tom Brady in New England, while Warner "won" the starting job in Arizona. And Titans coach Jeff Fisher would be happy for quarterback Vince Young to spend some time on the bench learning and absorbing once he's over his sprained knee.

"I think this is going to be a good experience for Vince -- to sit here and watch Kerry do what Kerry did," Fisher said. "He's never really had an opportunity to sit behind a veteran quarterback and watch him grasp a game plan and put it into play. That experience will be very useful to him over the next week or so."

That certainly sounds like the door is open for Collins to start for a lengthy period of time.

A similar situation is unfolding in Tampa Bay, where Brian Griese will get another start after managing the Bucs past New Orleans. Jeff Garcia claims he's healthy enough to play, but coach Jon Gruden appears to prefer Griese's traditional drop-back style compared to Garcia's off-the-cuff.

"In his first start back here, he won the game as a starter," Gruden said of Griese. "That is a big compliment in pro football. I thought he missed some guys that he normally hits, but he managed the football game and made some timely plays on third down. I think he will get better and better."
