Broncos Hire Another Former Patriot

The Denver Broncos announced the hire of a new assistant coach Monday, former Patriot linebacker Roman Phifer. It is Phifer's first coaching job in the NFL.

15-year NFL linebacker Roman Phifer joins former New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels' staff in Denver the Broncos announced Monday. His role will be an assistant linebackers coach.

Phifer played for the Patriots from 2001-04 winning three Super Bowls with New England over that time. He was originally selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the second round (31st overall) of the 1991 NFL Draft.

Phifer played for four teams before he retired from the NFL; Rams (1991-98), New York Jets (1998-2000), New England Patriots (2001-04), New York Giants (2005).
