Patriots nosetackle Vince Wilfork was at minicamp Wednesday, the first mandatory session for the Patriots, to make it clear he would "meet all my obligations and that's being here for mandatory stuff." Wilfork's existing contract, originally a six-year deal, expires at the end of the 2009 season. He said he's willing to do whatever it takes to stay in New England and hoped his appearance would spark stalled negotiations for a contract extension.
"I hope so, but who knows what the future holds?" Wilfork said. "I keep saying that I love this organization, I love my teammates and coaches. I don't think there is any better place out there I'd rather be. That's not the issue here. Hopefully we can move forward. ... I'll be practicing and with my teammates doing everything in my (power) that I can do to stay around here."
