The New England Patriots made a pair of trades during roster cuts on Saturday. The team acquired LB Tracy White from the Eagles and S Jarrad Page from the Kansas City Chiefs. The trades were for undisclosed future Draft picks. In addition the team claimed OL Steve Maneri off waivers and released LB Tyrone McKenzie.
The Patriots announced acquisitions of Tracy White, Page and Maneri Sunday afternoon. In addition to the moves to add the two newcomers, the team announced second year LB Tyrone McKenzie was released.
Page was a seventh round pick by the Chiefs in the 2006 NFL Draft. The 6-foot 225-pound UCLA product has participated in 53 games with 39 starts recording 204 total tackles and 10 interceptions.
White was originally signed by the Seattle Seahawks as a rookie free agent in 2003. The 6-foot, 234-pound product from Howard has registered 94 tackles on specials teams over his seven year career. He has played for four teams; Seattle (2003-04), Jacksonville Jaguars (2005), Green Bay Packers (2006-08) and the Philadelphia Eagles (2008-09).
Maneri was originally signed by the Houston Texans as a rookie free agent in May 2010. The 6-foot-6, 290-pound Temple product played tight end in college appearing in 45 games with 25 starts. Maneri converted to offensive tackle when he reached the NFL.
McKenzie was a third round pick by the Patriots in the 2009 NFL draft. The 6-foot-2, 245-pound South Florida product was injured during the summer practices and placed on injured reserve prior to the start of the regular season.
