The New England Patriots signed four players to the practice squad the team announced Monday. LB Shawn Crable, S Sergio Brown, WR Darnell Jenkins and OG/C Rich Ohrnberger were officially back on the team.
Crable, a 6-foot-5, 250-pound linebacker out of Michigan is back for another stint with the team that drafted him. Originally selected by the Patriots in the third round (78th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft, Crable has landed on injured reserve his first two seasons in the league.
Brown was signed as an undrafted rookie by the Patriots. The Notre Dame product made a late push during the preseason fo a roster spot, but was eventually edged out by other veterans and newly acquired S Jarrad Page (Chiefs).
Jenkins, a 5-foot-10, 191-pound receiver, returns to the roster. Originally signed by the Texans as an undrafted rookie out of Miami, Jenkins joined the Patriots in December 2009, after stints on the Texans, Browns and Buccaneers. He recorded possibly his best game
Ohnberger, A former fourth round pick (123rd overall) by the team in 2009, returns after being released in the team’s final roster cuts on Saturday. The 6-foot-2, 290-pound Penn State product has played both guard and center for New England during the preseason.
