Call it a sense of self-preservation. Call it self-serving. Call it anything you want, but the reality is that the Cleveland Browns have worked hard to spin the public perception of their decision to hire Eric Mangini over Patriots vice president of player personnel Scott Pioli. If Pioli is not the right fit, why then are other GM candidates still backing away?
