Pro Career: Originally a sixth-round draft
choice by Denver (190th overall) in 2001 NFL Draft played in 10 games as a rookie
spent first eight weeks of 2002 with Broncos played in four games, inactive
for four others, claimed via waivers by Seattle and played in three contests
before joining Arizona.
2003 (Arizona Cardinals): Was active for
7 games for the Cardinals, ended with one catch for 23 yards and one run for
-4 yards and 5 kick returns for 126 (a 27.2-yard average).
2002 (Arizona, Seattle, Denver): Claimed
via waivers from Seattle, by the Cards. After brief stints with the Broncos
and Seahawks, Kasper had arguably his best season as a pro with 15 catches for
180 yards receiving, 3 runs for 19 yards, and 55 kick returns for 1300-yards
(a 23.6-yard average).
2001 (Denver): Played in 10 games with
four starting assignments concluded rookie season with eight pass receptions
for 84 yards (10.5-yard average). Made his mark on the kickoff return team with
impressive 26.6-yard average on 14 returns for 372 yards.
College/Personal: Former walk-on rose to
first-team all-Big Ten Conference honors at Iowa and two-time academic all-conference
selection in 44 games (21 starts) for the Hawkeyes became the schools all-time
receptions leader with 157 catches and finished fourth in career receiving yardage
with 1,974 yards. His 82 receptions as a senior set school single-season record
and led Big Ten conference his 1,010 yards in 1999 ranked second in school history.
Football, wrestling, and track standout at Hinsdale (Ill.) South High School
owns degree in marketing from Iowa
