Biography:
Poteat was out of football in 2004, until the Patriots called to offer him a job during their spate of injury problems. New England was using WR Troy Brown as a healthy body for pass defense.

Poteat contributed on special teams and in certain defensive situations for the Patriots during their SuperBowl run.

The team relaeased Poteat as part of their 65-man roster cutdowns in August of 2004.
