How Acquired: Signed by the Patriots as an undrafted rookie free agent April 29, 2004.
Scouting Report: Has the ability to play sound technique, occasionally caught out of position. Has decent speed with good leaping ability. Wil get overpowered by larger receivers, but maintains position well. Not a shutdown corner, yet manages to make plays.
Personal: Born Randall Jerome Gay, Jr., on May 5, 1982 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Nickname is "Blue". Attended Brusly High (LA), where he played football, baseball, track and participated in weight lifting, earning letters in all four sports. Attended LSU, where he majored in marketing and played under coach Dolphins coach Nick Saban. |
