Bruschi played defense for the Arizona Wildcats as a defensive end where he tied the NCAA Division I-A career sack record with 52 QB sacks. He finished his collegiate career having amassed 185 total tackles (137 solo), forced six fumbles and recovered five others.
Personal: Tedy Lacap Bruschi was born on June 9, 1973 in San Francisco, Calif. He is the son of Anthony Sr. and Juanita Bruschi. Bruschi attended Roseville High (CA), playing football where he was a two-time team caption and earned all-conference, all-northern California and all-metro honors. Bruschi participated in both track and wrestling earning letters in all three sports. Tedy and his wife, Heidi, have three sons, Tedy, Jr and Rex and Dante.
Notes: Bruschi suffered a mild stroke one week after his pro-bowl appearance in February of 2005. He had been out of football recovering through the first six weeks of the 2005 NFL Season. The Patriots placed Bruschi on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.
