Fifita is an All-American candidate in the Mountain West Conference. Began collegiate career starting at the nose guard position then moved over to the defensive tackle position. Plays much bigger than his size (6'-0") using his mass to gain position against offensive lineman. At 322-pounds, he is a wide body and uses his strength to command double-teams. Fifita is labeled as strongest player on the Utes. Able to squat 675 pounds and bench 460 pounds.

2004: First team all-Mountain West Conference (MWC) Finished the 2004 season as the Fiesta Bowl Defensive MVP. During his 12 starts for the Utes' defense, he managed 45 total tackles (23 solo), 4.5 sacks and 9 tackles for loss ... He managed to return an interception for a 6-yard score vs. UNLV and had 2 pass break-ups vs. San Diego State ... Lined up as running back carrying the ball 2 times for 5 yards, one was a 4-yard TD vs BYU.

2003: Was an honorable mention for all-MWC. In 12 starts managed 31 total tackles, 8 for a loss and 3 sacks Managed 5 total tackles and 2 tackles for loss in Liberty Bowl victory against Southern Miss.

2002: Played in 11 games, with 1 start. Managed 16 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, 1 interception, 2 fumble recoveries, and 1 pass breakup

2001: Redshirted.

High School: Fountain Valley High (Calif.). Received all-conference honors twice, and all-county once. Was a team captain and defensive player of the year
