Biography:
How Acquired: Signed by the Vikings on Aug. 11, 2008, after originally signing with the New England Patriots as an undrafted rookie free agent on May 2, 2008.

2007: Led the Big Ten in fumbles recovered with three. Recorded five tackles, 1.5 TFLs, 0.5 sacks and recovered a fumble against #25 Michigan. Had a season-high five tackles, including a solo, at Iowa. Also notched 0.5 TFLs and recovered a fumble against the Hawkeyes. Assisted on two tackles and had a PBU against #5 Wisconsin. Assisted on three tackles against #21 Penn State, recorded 0.5 TFLs and had a QB hurry. Notched a solo tackle, a TFL and a fumble recovery at Indiana. Had three tackles, including a solo, at Syracuse. Notched two tackles against Western Illinois. Started at defensive tackle in the season opener against Missouri. Recorded a tackle against Mizzou.

2006: Played in all 12 games and started 11 at defensive tackle. Ranked ninth in the Big Ten in tackles for loss, averaging 1.04 per game. Registered a career high-tying eight tackles and a career-best 4.5 for loss in the season finale at Northwestern. His 4.5 TFL rank ninth on the Illinois single-game list.

2005: Named the team's Most Improved Player. Started all 11 games at defensive tackle for the second consecutive year. Led all defensive linemen in tackles with 46 and led the team with 7.5 tackles for loss. Had a career-high six solo tackles at Purdue. Finished the year with three straight games of a six tackles. Registered multiple tackles for loss against San Jose State (3) and at Purdue (2). Posted his first career sack against San Jose State when he had 1.5 for a loss of six yards. Blocked a field goal against California.

2004:Named to The Sporting News' Freshman All-Big Ten team. Started all 11 games, totaling 40 tackles, two TFL's, three QBH's and two PBUs. Made a career-best eight tackles and had one PBU vs. UCLA.

2003: Redshirted.

High School: Excellent athlete who received recruiting interest in basketball as well as football. Ranked as one of the top offensive linemen in the state of Ohio as a senior. All-Region selection by SuperPrep. Twice named second team All-Southwest Ohio.
