Four-year starter, awarded All-Conference honors every year since
his sophomore campaign. Senior rushing totals included 338/1,960/15,
with 23/237/3 catching the ball in 15 games. Only the third runner in
Division I-AA history to have four consecutive 1,000-yard rushing
seasons.

Sees the field, finds the small openings and drives his feet on
contact. Patient, waits for blocks to develop and displays good
awareness. Strong, breaks several tackles during a single run and
picks up a lot of yardage off initial contact. Solid receiver out of
the backfield.

Marginal playing speed, cannot beat defenders around the corner or
run to daylight. Not an elusive back who creates yardage. Marginal
blocker. 2006 Update: • Senior Captain tailback became the third player in Division I-AA history to have four 1,000-yard seasons. He joined Jerry Azumah (New Hampshire, 1995-98) and Adrian Peterson (Georgia Southern 1996-99). Six players have done it in Division I-A. A total of six have now done it in I-AA. Ranks second among active players in career all-purpose yards (5,941). • Currently second all-time at UMass in career rushing yards (5,199) and second in career carries (1,080), is also third in career rushing touchdowns (42). • Third all-time at UMass in total touchdowns with 47 and third in points with 284. • His 1,827 ranks as the third-best season in UMass history. Marcel Shipp holds top two marks (2,542 and 1,846). • Leads UMass in all-purpose yards with 145.7 per game. That ranks first in the A-10 and 14th nationally.
