Fred Taylor Profile
RB Fred Taylor has an ankle injury which will require surgery according to a report by ESPN. The 33 year old was hurt in the fourth quarter of the Patriots 27-21 victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday at Gillette Stadium. According to the report, the surgery and recovery are not expected to end Taylor's season.
After 11 seasons with the Jaguars, Taylor signed a 2-year, $5 million deal to join the Patriots in February. In Week Three of against the Atlanta Falcons, Taylor turned in the best rushing performance of any Patriots running back this season. He rushed 21 times for 105 yards and a TD. The last Patriots running back to rush for over 100 yards was Sammy Morris who gained 117 yards against the Oakland Raiders Dec. 14, 2008.
Morris, who has played fullback for the Patriots this season, should see more action with Laurence Maroney and Kevin Faulk picking up the slack. Second year running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis also remains an option. Green-Ellis has not been active this season. Patriots News - Forums - Twitter
