TE Benjamin Watson hauled in his third touchdown of the season in the second quarter of the loss to the Broncos. Watson leads New England in touchdown catches and is the only player with more than a single receiving score through five games.

Watson is in the final year of his rookie contract and could benefit from becoming Brady's goto guy when Randy Moss and Wes Welker are covered. Watson knew at the beginning of the season the the pressure was on to perform. New England completely revamped their tight end position by signing Chris Baker, trading for Alex Smith. New England then traded away former third round pick David Thomas and acquired Michael Matthews from the Giants.

Watson remains the team's most athletic player at the position. Much like Tony Gonzales, Antonio Gates and others, Watson's continued presence in the offense presents matchup problems for opponents,
