OL Kendall Simmons: Patriots Release Veteran

The New England Patriots have released veteran offensive guard Kendall Simmons the team announced today. Simmons, 30, was signed by New England Sept. 6, 2009. The 6-foot-3, 315-pound former Steeler was inactive for each game except the 59-0 blowout over the Tennessee Titans.

The Patriots have Mark LeVoir, Dan Connolly and Rich Ohrnberger as options to replace Simmons. With six players not attending practice Friday, the team could be looking to promote someone from the practice squad, or one of the players who visited Foxboro recently.
