Brandon Tate Profile
Brandon Tate admits he ran the wrong route last against the Buccaneers, which resulted in an interception. "I was in the huddle and I thought I heard something, but it wasn't the right thing," Tate told ESPN. "Mistakes happen. Me and Tom talked about it and we move forward."
Tate, who admitted to the rookie mistake has been active for just one game this season since returning from the Non-Football Injury list. He had been recovering from an injury suffered last season at North Carolina. The injury affected Tate's draft status, pushing the talented receiver into the third round where the Patriots selected with the 83rd overall pick of the Draft.
With no definitive No. 3. receiver on offense. Tate could find himself thrust into more action each week. The Patriots prefer to run their offense from the spread formation, and lack healthy bodies to lineup each week. Sam Aiken has taken over as the third target after rookie Julian Edelman was sidelined with an arm injury.
